I would like to extend a warm welcome to all trying out for the Minor Peewee team for the 2015-2016 Season.

My name is Neil Brown and I would like to introduce myself as the Head Coach of the MTK Minor Peewee team. I have spent several years volunteering and coaching with the MTK and CPMHA organizations.

The coaching staff and I will provide a positive environment for all the players. A high level of commitment will be needed to compete at the Minor Peewee level. While winning games is important, allowing these young players to experience the game of hockey in a way they enjoy means more. Our practices will be up tempo and feature small game philosophies.

A successful team to me is one that shows improvement on the ice, competes all the time, and comes together as a TEAM off the ice during the year.

Players will be expected to give their best effort at all times and work hard while being respectful and supportive of teammates, coaches, opponents, and officials. Participation in practices and games is mandatory.

Good Players Inspire Themselves, Great Players Inspire Others”

There will be a team fee of $400.00 to be provided to the team for tournaments, supplies, team building, etc. This amount is in addition to your MTK registration fees. We will be entering anywhere from 4 or 5 tournaments, with two or  three of them being away tournaments, requiring 2+ nights of accommodations.

Tournaments
October 9th – 11th Peterborough Tournament – Registered
November 5th - Nov 8th – Harold Hamm Tournament, Ottawa - Registered
December 4th – Dec 6th -  Sliver Stick, Northumberland Regional - Registered
1 or 2 more Tournaments will be book
*Hotel room will be blocked and reserved for all out of town tournaments

During Try-outs myself and the independent evaluators and a member of the MTK executive will be assessing the players on the following;
 • Individual skills (skating, passing, puck control, shooting)
 • Attitude, focus, discipline
 • Team Play

If you believe you are up to the challenge and are willing to work hard and commit to the TEAM, I look forward to seeing you at try outs. If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to contact me by phone @ 613-314-0006 or email at neil.brown@drainall.com for more information check our website at www.mtk.goaline.ca.
