Effective the 2009-2010 Season for a Pilot Project:
Ø The B league will start its regular season on October 9th (After the A and AA League have started their season).
Ø The league will play 32 league games with the season ending March 1st, 2010.
Ø After the regular season has ended, all teams will be invited to participate in either an A pool championship or a B pool championship. The A pool will be the top teams in the league and the B pool the teams that ordinarily do not make the playoffs.
Ø Teams in the B Pool are not required to play, and will have to inform the league 1 week prior to the end of the season of their intention to participate in the B pool playoffs if they do not make the A pool.
Ø The teams in both pools with then play a Round Robin playoff. The B pool will complete their playoff round robin and their championship game prior to the March
Ø Break. (March 12th)
Ø The A Pool will compete in a round robin designed to eliminate 4 teams by March break, after the March break, the 4 remaining teams will participate in a still to be determined Semi Final format, and the final 2 teams will play on ‘Championship
Ø Weekend’ April 4th where each game will be played one after another with media exposure and other events.
Ø The Semi Final format and final details will be worked out at the B league meeting after the Coaches meeting which will be help early October.
