OBMHL Planned Return to Hockey - Jan 27

After discussion at our Board meeting a few evenings ago, the League is planning on a return to play as of January 27th.
 
The main goal for the League is to be able to complete all 30 regular season games.
 
To accomplish this we have come up with a Plan B and a Plan C for our U12 through U18 divisions.
 
Our Plan B is that we will try and get all of the season schedule completed by either March 6th or 7th, and then have a very abbreviated playoffs for the top 8 teams in each of those divisions only.
Those playoffs would consist of a one game elimination series, with 1 vs 8, 2 vs 7, 3 vs 6, and 4 vs 5.
Those teams will play one game with the winner advancing to a Game two where the highest ranked team will play the lowest, and the two middle teams face off.
The winners of the second games would then face each other in a one game Finals.
 
We are still planning that the season must be done by March 24th for the U11, U13 and U15 divisions as the HEO Tournament of Champions hasn't yet been cancelled, and may not be.
 
Our Plan C, should we not be able to complete the season by the 7th of March due to a lack of ice, more COVID complications, etc, would have us playing until as late in March as possible (either the 24th if the ToC is still on, or until the 31st) with the 1st place team from the regular season being declared the Champions.
This scenario would also eliminate any playoffs.
 
For the U10 and U11 divisions, our plan is to try and complete the 20 regular season games by the end of February or early March, then have a Round Robin playoffs. 
Whether this is a two Pool scenario, or whether we will split into 3 or more Pools will depend on how much time remains after the completion of the 20 game season.
