Thank you to all those who express interest in the MTK U15 Team. I encourage all players from Almonte, Carleton Place and surrounding area to attend conditioning ice times and tryouts. My name is Bob Hawn and I’m very excited to have the opportunity as Head Coach of the Mississippi Thunder Kings U15 team for this upcoming season.  I come from a very strong and diverse hockey background of playing and coaching at different levels.

Players interested in trying out for the U15 team can expect a team environment built around competitive nature, discipline, strong work ethic, teamwork, and a respectful attitude. We will create an inclusive family environment where players and parents together will be proud of the team and MTK Brand.

As Head Coach I will bring an open, honest, and positive competitive mindset to the team. Making the most of my time and focus on preparation and organization teaching the players the importance of being prepared in all situations. We will focus heavily on skills and habits that lead to success and discipline in the game. Playing a competitive sport can be demanding and I will work with every player to maximize output and effort.

This season the team focus will be on creating a culture built on habits and trust both on and off the ice. All coaches and players will build towards the goal of competing with discipline, respect and striving for success in everything we do. Success is not always measured on goals and wins. I treat all players equal and fair play policy will be adhered to.

Players can expect dry land / off ice sessions in the early part of the season as a portion of the team training routine. (Specific details to come) We will also be utilizing the MTK association allocated funds for goalie specific development and player development sessions throughout the season along with multiple checking clinics.

I wish everyone a safe and enjoyable summer and to all players trying out the best of luck and look forward to seeing you all in the fall. Below is a list of potential tournaments/events we have been registered in.
