Coach's Letter

Hello U14 Players and Families,

My name is Mike Hart and I am very excited to have been selected to coach the U14 MTK team for the  2023/24 season. 
I was Head Coach for the MTK U12 team in the 2021/22 season, an Assistant Coach with the MTK U10 team in 2022/23 season and before that, I spent quite a few years coaching in Minor Hockey.
 
My coaching philosophy is to provide a positive environment that encourages individual goals as well as team goals. Competitive hockey requires a lot of hard work, dedication and commitment from the entire team but also create a fun environment where the kids are excited to come to the rink. Together, we will focus on the skill development that is required to build strength and confidence. Contact hockey will be introduced this year so one of the main focuses will be learning how to give and receive body contact in a safe and proper manner.
I look forward to getting this season going and I am hoping to see some familiar faces and I encourage new players as well!
